Review: Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort
In March, we snuck away for a long weekend at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, one of those easy escapes that feels far more distant than the short flight from San Francisco. From the moment we arrived, it was clear why this resort has such a loyal following: the warmth, the welcome, the attention to every detail.
We were celebrating our anniversary, and before we even made it to check-in, a celebration team appeared with sparklers and a cake, a small gesture that set the tone for the entire stay. It was such a heartwarming way to begin the trip. From there, everything flowed effortlessly. Our bags were whisked away, cold drinks appeared, and the check-in must have been very seamless because I honestly don’t remember it — which is the best compliment possible.
Mariachi welcome instantly setting that Baja mood.
The Room: Baja Craftsmanship and Calm
Our Ocean View Room was more of a garden view with a peek of the water (first photo), but we didn’t mind at all. The terrace was spacious and private, with a path that led directly toward the pools and restaurants. The room itself was beautiful, true to the region with handcrafted details, carved wood, and cool stone floors that kept it feeling serene and humble.
Dining Highlights: Alebrije, Árbol & Sea Grill
Dinner that first night at Alebrije was perfect. The restaurant overlooks the beach, and during dinner the sky turned every shade of pink and gold. They surprised us with a creative anniversary dessert, a white chocolate canvas we could paint ourselves with edible colors. It was playful, unexpected, appreciated, and what we quickly learned was very Las Ventanas.
The next night, we tried Árbol, which sits back near the inner pool that actually has a “lazy river” built in, not in a tacky way, but in that effortlessly chic Rosewood style. It has a livelier feel, perfect for families, couples, everyone blending together in that easy Baja way. We spent time floating through the lazy river earlier that day, margaritas in hand, before heading back to freshen up for dinner. The food at Árbol was excellent, but the atmosphere was what stood out most: warm lighting, soft music, and that unmistakable Rosewood touch.
We saved the best for last with dinner at Sea Grill, finding it to be a truly special finale. If you choose the beach option, tables are set right on the sand with lanterns flickering and live music drifting in the background. The food was incredible, but it was the setting that made it unforgettable, the kind of romantic, cinematic experience that feels both effortless and intimate.

Days by the Pool
Our last full day was all about relaxation. We split our time between the main pool with its swim-up bar and the adults-only pool next to it, which is smaller and quieter. Service was spot-on: casual yet attentive, and by the time afternoon rolled around, we’d fallen into that perfect vacation rhythm.

Service with Soul
Throughout our stay, we had butler service, and they went above and beyond, the kind of intuitive care that makes you feel both seen and completely at ease. You can tell many guests are regulars, some even owners of the residences, and it’s easy to understand why.
Las Ventanas blends sophistication with an effortless sense of ease. It’s the kind of place that reminds you how good it feels to slow down.
